experiences (cars i drived and knew)
the first Subaru models that came in Holland were distrubuted and sold
on consignment base , to promote the cars and interest dealers. At the
time i was employed at a dealer called Piet Leeh carfirm in Amsterdam
Power with a Chevrolet engine , what a appearance , and a terrible quality , every part was
expensive and hard to order. the car i drove was owned by a guy that had loads of money
because of his business , every time he showed up at the tyre firm he was accompagnied
by girls i didnt dare to talk to...............
what a great Fiat
Jaguars will always be my favoutites. The 2 door version
is the first classic i would buy if i could afford it , just
because off emotion and knowing it will break down
every week...........
Rover the poor mans Rolls especially the 3l , v8 engines power and
comfort ,the only tyre that you could fit on was Dunlop
The Wartburg , 3cil 2 stroke and free gearing , i helped
building the first one with a 4 stroke engine (1100cc
Opel) for a taxidriver in Amsterdam , eastgermany
came 15 years later....................................
I drove many ,
owned much
and i know now
that a car can
offer pleasure
and freedom.
also frustration
and
dependancy ,
but it changed
the world it
made everyone
able to go past
borders and
unite people. Its
stupid that
governements
dont try to deal
with it in a way
as it should ,
the car is one of
the primary life
needs.
